Audio cassettes of the favourite Bhajans of Bapu and the Ramdhun are played here.  Apart from this constructive programmes like the prayers of all religions, medical camps for the removal of leprosy, exhibitions of pictures, and campaigns for cleanliness, Human-Rights day and the like are organized here occasionally. On the first auspicious day of every new year, a friendly public meeting of all the citizens of the city is organized here.  Floats displaying the life of Pujya Bapu, along with the rally of children, etc. are also organized here.  Great men and women from all over the country come to the public prayer-meeting on the birth day of Pujya Bapu, and they exhilarate the grandeur of the Kirtimandir.  On the day of Gandhi-Jayanti multifarious programmes like the prayers of all religions, Gandhi geets, Bhajans, Dhuns, etc. are organized here.  So the programmes which would exhilarate Gandhian ideology are organized here.

On the day of Rentiya Baras and in the Death-Anniversary of Gandhiji, i.e. on the 30th January of every year, programmes like seminars and lectures of the famous thinkers and Gandhian philosopher are also arranged accassionally in order to propogate the Gandhian ideology.

On some occasions open competitions of students of schools and colleges are organized here, e.g. Essay competitions, Oratory competitions, Drawing Competitions, Gandhiyan Songs competition etc. are organized in the Kirtimandir and some prizes are given to encourage them.

Activities to inculate culture also do take place in this Kiritmandir for ladies, both young and old and for young children also.  There is a special library named Pujya Kasturba Gandhi Library for ladies and children.  In its reading room there are books and magazines.

There are twenty thousand books in this library.  Here there is some literature for children also.  Ladies and children take advantage of this library on a large scale.  Various activities of Personality Development of young men and young women and children are organized here throughout the whole year.  Books in Gujarati, Hindi and English are sold in the office of the Kirtimandir.  Moreover some collections of Gandhiji’s stamps, posters for display and photographs, key-chains, and pens etc. are sold here.

In this way Mahatma Gandhi Kirtimandir is not only a monument of the man of the millennium; but it is also a historical heritage of Mahatma Gandhiji’s ideals of life.  As the tension on mind and the materialistic outlook in the society increases, Gandhi’s way of truth and non-violence are in the light.  This Kiritmandir is like a light house on this path.
